Thank you to all the donors and supporters of WAPI’s 6th Annual Kingpin Classic! We had a great time and raised over $6700 for WAPI Community Services!

The sixth annual Kingpin Classic occurred on March 17, 2012 at AMF Imperial Lanes in South Seattle. Over sixty supporters bowled and helped raise funds for WAPI’s prevention and drug treatment services.

The Piggyback Bandits: Top Fundraising Team

After three hours of bowling, cheering, mingling and even friendly competition, the Piggyback Bandits came out as this year’s Kingpin champions raising over $1800 from their team alone.

The TopRawmen: The top scoring team (by average)

The Top Rawmen were the highest scoring team with a team average of 135. They also came in second place in fundraising, bringing in $1300 for WAPI!

The Mini-Maddies: Most Spirited Team

The Mini-Maddies did not sound mini at all being the most spirited team at the classic. They cheered each other on and helped bring a festive mood to the event. The Mini-Maddies also brought in $770 in donations for WAPI!

Top Scorer Individuals:
Shane Harvey with host WAPI staff Mic FLont
Jerilyn Young (Not pictured)

Shane Harvey and WAPI Board President Jerilyn Young were the high scorers of the day. Shane bowled a 186 and Jerilyn bowled a 167! Just an FYI, that was Jerilyn’s all time highest bowling score! Ever. Congratulations!

Thank you to all who came out! Special thanks to Maddie, the Kingpin coordinator and our volunteers Lea Bonoan and Lily Garcia.

More pictures to come soon.

We’ll be holding this year’s Kingpin Classic at AMF Imperial Lanes in Seattle, WA.  The event starts at 12:30pm. Click here for the event schedule, details, and pledge forms.

Since our services have a focus on cultural competency, a lot of the things that we do with the youth are not covered by our normal funding sources. For example, WAPI staff take our youth on social activities with the emphasis on having clean and sober fun. The costs incurred to take our youth to places such as Gameworks and other fun activities are not covered by our current funding. This is where our fundraising comes in and why you and the rest of our supporters play an important part in achieving our mission. Without your support, we couldn’t do what we do best; provide culturally relevant treatment and prevention services.

Thank you again for your support!
